Parking 2009-10
Maggie ShaplandI spoke for CHIS at the Transport Strategy meeting in February and at the Cabinet meeting in March to discuss introducing residential parking in Cliftonwood. This was rejected. In June it was decided to go ahead with a trial in Kingsdown. This was despite a minimal majority in favour, an increase in costs from £451,000 to £589,000 and grave concerns about the impact on surrounding areas. The Cabinet report stated that the integrity of the scheme might be affected by whether one can park across one’s own drive entrance.
