TREES 2011-12

Richard Bland, tree warden

CHIS has monitored the second tranche of scrub clearing that has been carried out on the Clifton Camp ramparts, and congratulated the Downs Ranger on the two explanatory panels put up, and the dramatic clearance of the Jackson view of the Gorge.

Two trees on the Green collapsed in summer storms, and should be replaced this winter. The Neighbourhood Partnership hopes to hold a major planting event on Clifton Down this winter to replace the seventy trees that have been lost in recent years from the Downs avenues, and other sites in Clifton for tree planting have been identified.
